Classes & Events Class and Events

All ZCH events, classes and programs are offered to provide people of all ages with tools to live and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

Registration

There are three easy ways to register for a class:

  1. Register online (online payment currently not available, other payment methods available)
  2. Call the Community Relations Office at 616.748.2834
  3. Register in person at the Community Relations Office, 2nd floor, DeWitt Building

Payment

Payment must be received three days prior to the start date to hold a seat in the class. Payment will not be accepted at the door. Walk-ins are not accepted unless noted.

Please Note: A returned check for insufficient funds will be assessed a $25 processing fee.

Class & Event Cancellation Procedures/ Policy

Classes and events are generally cancelled in inclement weather. If there are any questions, please visit the ZCH website home page or call the Community Relations office at 616.748.2834 to verify whether a class or event is cancelled. Time permitting, the following media will be notified of cancellations: WOOD TV-8, WZZM TV-13, WHTC 1450 AM and JQ 99.3 FM.

Weekday Classes

Class and event cancellations will be announced on the ZCH Class Cancellation Line (616.748.2834, option #1) and on www.zch.org no later than two hours prior to the class start time. Time permitting, local media sources will be contacted.

If Zeeland Public Schools close due to inclement weather, all ZCH classes scheduled to begin before 1pm will automatically be cancelled. For classes beginning at 1pm or later, weather conditions will be reassessed. 

ZCH classes held at the Zeeland Recreation Community Center follow the same cancellation procedures as stated above. 

Saturday Classes

Weather conditions will be assessed and any cancellations will be announced on the ZCH Class Cancellation Line (616.748.2834, option #1) no later than one hour prior to the class start time.

* Participants are always encouraged to use their judgment to assess road conditions and travel safety.

Refunds

A full refund will be issued for the following reasons:

  1. Class cancellation due to low enrollment
  2. Class cancellation due to instructor illness
  3. Cancellation of a one-time class that cannot be rescheduled
  4. A credit will not be issued for past classes unattended

Those registered for classes will be notified by the Community Relations Administrative Assistant in these circumstances. Additionally, there may be special circumstances when refunds are provided. Refunds will be issued when deemed appropriate. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be assessed for reasons other than those noted above.
