With this in mind, ZCH’s surgical areas are designed to reduce patient and family stress, improve privacy and confidentiality and deliver advanced technology for faster healing. The expanded facilities allow us to perform more procedures in a location that offers easy access for patients and families. A comfortable family area is close to the medical library, chapel and gift shop.
Our surgical facilities include:
- Three operating rooms
- Two endoscopy suites
- Pre- and post-surgery holding rooms with walls and doors for greater privacy
Technology advancements include a surgical boom – an articulating support arm that makes equipment more mobile for increased visibility and flexibility for the surgical team. Advancements also include instruments that aid in surgical procedures.
We’ve learned that good design does matter when it comes to your health. According to the Center for Health Design, good hospital design can positively impact patient health and recovery, financial operations and staff satisfaction.
Knowing this, ZCH’s surgical facility is family-friendly and easily located, with comfortable seating areas and wireless Internet access. Nearby is the ZCH medical library, which offers a wide range of medical information as well as magazines and other reading materials. Computer stations with Internet access are also available in the library. The cafeteria and vending machines are close at hand. After surgery, families can meet with the surgeon in a private room.
